Approach

A review is typically conducted in three phases:

  1. A request for and review of selected internal reports and working papers. Data gathering focuses on the Marketing, Database, Merchandising, and Operations sections outlined above. A checklist of information to be assembled by the client is provided to facilitate this phase.
  2. A client visit to:

    - Address unresolved issues/questions raised by our examination of internal documents.
    - Conduct interviews with selected members of the client management team.
    - Develop a deeper, first-hand understanding of the client's business.
  3. Compile findings and prepare a presentation or report with appropriate evaluation and recommendations. Recommendations will generally identify both immediate opportunities for business improvement and issues for further analysis or long term investment.

Cost

The cost of a business review depends on the size of the business and the number of areas covered. Once these are known, RW Consulting will provide a detailed estimate. Typical costs for a business review range between $15,000 and $40,000. Reimbursement, at cost, for out-of-pocket travel, long distance communication, etc., is in addition.

Staffing/Timing

Reviews are performed by Bob Weinberg, President of RW Consulting aided, when appropriate, by staff. During Bob's 25 + year career he has performed several business reviews for managers of established companies as well as for start-up managements and prospective corporate or other investors in a direct response business.

Projects can usually be completed within two to six weeks. The time required for completion depends on client schedules and the number of issues that must be addressed.
